6 FREE PLACES TO FIND NO ESSAY SCHOLARSHIPS IN 2020

Pink piggy bank in front of a green background.

It’s a vicious cycle. You write a ton of essays to graduate high school, and then you write another ton of essays to get accepted to college, and by the time you have to start applying for scholarships, you’re sick of all the writing. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with this list of no essay scholarship resources for when you just can’t find the words (or the will).
Yes, no essay scholarships are a real thing! Some might ask you to volunteer or fill out a survey or make a short video -- others may just ask for your name. The important thing is that you don’t have to push out a million different essays to qualify for financial aid.
(Quick word of advice: if you’re searching out no essay scholarships, be wary of scholarship scams. Any scholarships that advertise as guaranteed, require fees to apply, or ask for very personal information from you are questionable at best.)

1. Niche

Niche’s “Easy to Apply” section alone has hundreds of scholarship results. It lets you break your scholarship search down to ones that don’t require essays, GPA, or recommendation letters. If you’re really looking to move through applications at top speed, choose the “none of the above” option.

2. Fastweb

This site has been around for over 20 years, and you can find a lot among its 1.5 million scholarship offerings. The “Featured Scholarships” section of Fastweb is the place where they spotlight scholarships that are quick and easy to apply for. They usually only take a few minutes, and the page is updated regularly, so check back often for new opportunities.

3. ScholarshipPoints

The ScholarshipPoints program is owned and operated by Edvisors (a good general scholarship resource). Earn points towards scholarship drawings by doing things from the comfort of your computer, like taking surveys or interacting on social media. They’ve given away over a million dollars in college scholarships already!

4. Unigo

Unigo offers several scholarships, and while you may have to do some writing, there are definitely no essays. Think more along the lines of 250 word responses about zombie survival plans or your latest dreams. So far, these namesake scholarships have awarded $500,000 in aid.

5. The University Network

This list from The University Network is worth over $30,000 and is stocked with no essay scholarships that have recurring annual or monthly deadlines. This means you can apply for some of the same scholarships each month, without having to write a word.

6. DoSomething.org

Wow, you’re already that much closer to scholarship opportunities. What we’re interested in is community service and social good. Volunteer your time to a cause, and you’ll be entered to win a scholarship, all while making a positive impact. No essay required (and no GPA or recommendation required either!). Check out our easy volunteer scholarships, and feel free to do multiple.
